Regolamento Concorso Internazionale di Arrangiamento e Composizione per Orchestra Jazz

RULES AND REGULATIONS IN ENGLISH
  • ART. 1 Il concorso BARGA JAZZ 2024 si divide in 2 sezioni:
    • SEZIONE A – ARRANGIAMENTO
    • SEZIONE B – COMPOSIZIONI ORIGINALI
  • ART.2.1 Il concorso è aperto a musicisti italiani e stranieri.
  • 2.2 sono esclusi i componenti della BargaJazz Orchestra 2024.
  • 2.3 Sono ammessi a concorrere anche i vincitori delle passate edizioni.
  • ART. 3.1 Per l’edizione 2024 la sezione A sarà dedicata alla musica di Joe Henderson.
  • 3.2 Gli arrangiamenti dovranno essere su musiche di Joe Henderson.
  • ART.4.1 Sia gli arrangiamenti della sez. A, sia le composizioni della sez. B dovranno essere orchestrate per il seguente organico:
    • 1° sax alto/clarinetto
    • 2° sax alto/soprano
    • 1° sax tenore
    • 2° sax tenore
    • sax baritono/cl.basso
    • 1° tromba
    • 2° tromba/flicorno
    • 3° tromba
    • 4° tromba/flicorno
    • 1° trombone
    • 2° trombone
    • 3° trombone
    • trombone basso
    • pianoforte
    • chitarra
    • contrabbasso
    • batteria
    • vibrafono
  • 4.2 Esclusivamente per la sezione A, dovrà essere prevista in aggiunta all’organico, una parte solista per sax tenore che sarà affidata a Chris Cheek
  • 4.3 Non verranno accettate partiture con organico diverso da quello indicato nel presente regolamento.
  • ART. 5.1 Per partecipare al CONCORSO INTERNAZIONALE DI ARRANGIAMENTO E COMPOSIZIONE DI BARGA JAZZ occorre inviare mediante raccomandata A/R indirizzata alla segreteria del concorso c/o COMUNE DI BARGA, VIA DI MEZZO 45, BARGA (LU), ITALIA, la seguente documentazione:
    • Domanda di partecipazione contenente: dati anagrafici; indirizzo; numero di telefono; indirizzo e-mail.
    • Dichiarazione di accettazione delle regole del concorso.
  • 5.2 Per la sez. A e B, unire alla domanda:
    • UNA COPIA della partitura (in formato A3, fronte-retro e rilegata), firmata dal concorrente, UNA COPIA delle parti di tutti gli strumenti SCRITTE CHIARAMENTE,
    • i file della partitura e delle parti singole in formato PDF, un file in formato audio estratto dal programma di video-scrittura musicale su CD-ROM o altro supporto digitale.
  • 5.4 TERMINI DI SCADENZA (data entro la quale è necessario spedire le domande e il materiale al Comune di Barga):
    • SEZ. A, B: 15 LUGLIO 2024 (farà fede il timbro postale)
  • ART. 6 Il materiale inviato non verrà restituito.
  • ART. 7.1 Una commissione nominata dal direttore artistico selezionerà i brani (sez. A, B) che accederanno alla fase finale del concorso.
  • 7.2 Le decisioni della commissione verranno comunicate entro la prima settimana di Agosto.
  • ART. 8 L’esecuzione dei brani selezionati avverrà pubblicamente presso il Teatro dei Differenti di Barga tra il 23 e il 24 agosto 2024.
  • ART. 9 Una giuria internazionale formata da musicisti e giornalisti specializzati valuterà i lavori in concorso e assegnerà i premi.
  • ART. 10.1 verranno messi a disposizione i seguenti premi in denaro (al lordo delle ritenute di legge):
    • Sezione A 1° classificato: € 2.500,00
    • Sezione B 1° classificato: € 1.500,00
  • 10.2 La premiazione avverrà in occasione della serata conclusiva della manifestazione che si terrà a Barga il 24 agosto 2024. La giuria, il cui giudizio è insindacabile, si riserva di segnalare con menzione altri brani meritevoli o di non assegnare uno o più premi.
  • ART. 11 La manifestazione potrà essere ripresa in tutto o in parte per registrazioni radiotelevisive a scopo promozionale senza che i concorrenti abbiano nulla a pretendere, salvo quanto previsto dalla legge sulla tutela del diritto d’autore.
  • ART.1 The BARGAJAZZ 2024 Contest is divided into 2 sections:
    • SECTION A – ARRANGING (Antônio Carlos Jobim)
    • SECTION B – ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS
  • ART.2.1 The Competition is open to Italian and Foreign musicians
  • 2.2 Members of the BargaJazz Orchestra 2024 are not eligible
  • 2.3 Past edition winners are eligible
  • ART.3.1 Section A of the 2024 edition is dedicated to Joe Henderson.
  • 3.2 Arrangements must be of music by Joe Henderson.
  • ART.4.1 Section A arrangements and Section B compositions must be orchestrated for the following line-up:
    • – 1st alto sax/clarinet
    • – 2nd alto sax/soprano
    • – 1st tenor sax
    • – 2nd tenor sax
    • – sax baritone/bass clarinet
    • – 1st trumpet
    • – 2nd trumpet/flugelhorn
    • – 3rd trumpet
    • – 4th trumpet/flugelhorn
    • – 1st trombone
    • – 2nd trombone
    • – 3rd trombone
    • – bass trombone
    • – piano
    • – guitar
    • – double bass
    • – drums
    • – vibraphone
  • 4.2 Section A only – in addition to the line-up – shall include a solo part for tenor sax that has to be assigned to Chris Cheek.
  • 4.3 Scores for a different line-up than the one specified here will not be accepted
  • ART.5.1 In order to participate in the INTERNATIONAL JAZZ ORCHESTRA ARRANGING AND COMPOSITION CONTEST it is necessary to send the following documentation by registered post with proof of receipt to the Competition secretariat, c/o COMUNE DI BARGA, VIA DI MEZZO 45, BARGA (LU), ITALIA:
    • Request for participation including relevant personal details, address and telephone number
    • Declaration of acceptance of the Rules and Regulations of the Competition
  • 5.2 For Sections A and B, include:
    • ONE COPY of the full score (in A3 front and back bound format), signed by the applicant, with one copy of the individual instrument parts CLEARLY WRITTEN.
    • CD-ROM containing PDF files of the score and individual parts, audio file by musical notation software (eg. Finale or Sibelius) stored on Cd-ROM or on other digital media.
  • 5.4 DEADLINE (date within which applications together with the relevant material must reach the Comune of Barga):
    • – Sections A, B: 15th July 2024
  • ART.6 Submitted material will not be returned
  • ART.7.1 A commission nominated by the Artistic Director will select those pieces (sections A and B) which will continue onto the final phase of the Competition
  • 7.2 The decisions of the commission will be made public by the first week in August
  • ART. 8 Public performances of the pieces in Sections A/B will take place in the Teatro dei Differenti in Barga from the 23th to 24nd of August 2024.
  • ART.9 An International jury composed of musicians and journalists specialised in jazz music will evaluate the pieces in the Competition and assign prizes
  • ART.10.1 The following cash prizes will be awarded (gross of any duties and other deductions in accordance with legal requirements):
    • Section A 1st place euro 2.500,00
    • Section B 1st place euro 1.500,00
  • 10.2 The prize giving will take place in Barga during the final evening of the event on the 24th of August 2024. The jury, whose decisions are final, may chose to make special mention of other worthy pieces or even not to assign one or more prizes
  • ART. 11 The event may be wholly or in part recorded for televisual promotional purposes without remuneration or mention for the participants, apart from that expressly indicated by the relevant copyright legislation.

Regolamento “BargaJazz Contest 2024”: concorso per gruppi da 3 a 7 elementi

RULES AND REGULATIONS IN ENGLISH
  • ART.1 BARGAJAZZ CONTEST è un concorso aperto a musicisti italiani e stranieri di età inferiore a 35 anni.
  • ART. 2.1 sono esclusi i componenti della BargaJazz Orchestra 2024.
  • 2.2 Non sono ammessi a concorrere i gruppi vincitori delle passate edizioni del BargaJazz Contest.
  • ART.3.1 BARGAJAZZ CONTEST, è riservato a gruppi da 3 a 7 elementi.
  • 3.2 Nell’ambito del concorso verrà assegnato il “PREMIO LUCA FLORES” a un componente dei gruppi in gara ritenuto particolarmente meritevole.
  • ART.4.1 Per partecipare al BARGA JAZZ CONTEST occorre inviare mediante raccomandata A/R indirizzata alla segreteria del concorso c/o COMUNE DI BARGA, VIA DI MEZZO 45, BARGA (LU), ITALIA, la seguente documentazione:
    • Domanda di partecipazione contenente i dati anagrafici, indirizzo, numero di telefono e indirizzo e-mail del responsabile del gruppo.
    • Dichiarazione di accettazione delle regole del concorso.
    • Una registrazione (CD o altro supporto digitale) del gruppo contenente almeno 2 brani della durata minima di almeno 4 minuti ciascuno.
    • Breve curriculum del gruppo.
    • Nome e dati anagrafici dei componenti del gruppo e il numero di iscrizione EX-ENPALS. Coloro che non sono iscritti dovranno allegare anche una fotocopia della carta d’identità.
  • ART. 5.1 Una commissione qualificata selezionerà i gruppi che accederanno alla fase finale del concorso.
  • 5.2 Le selezioni avverranno in due fasi: una prima selezione sarà effettuata sulla base delle registrazioni inviate.
  • 5.3 I gruppi così selezionati dovranno esibirsi a fine Agosto nell’ambito del Bargajazz Festival 2024.
  • 5.4 La data per l’esibizione finale verrà fissata dalla commissione e non sarà possibile in nessun caso spostarla.
  • ART. 6.1 I gruppi selezionati saranno ospitati (vitto e alloggio) per il solo giorno dell’esibizione.
  • 6.2 Ai gruppi selezionati sarà corrisposto un gettone di presenza di 60 euro nette a testa.
  • 6.3 Non sono previsti ulteriori rimborsi o compensi.
  • ART. 7.1 I gruppi selezionati dovranno confermare la loro partecipazione entro 7 giorni dalla comunicazione della avvenuta selezione.
  • ART. 8.1 TERMINI DI SCADENZA (data entro la quale è necessario spedire le domande e il materiale al Comune di Barga): 15 LUGLIO 2024 (farà fede il timbro postale).
  • ART.9 le registrazioni, ed il materiale inviato, non verranno restituiti.
  • ART.10 Una giuria internazionale formata da musicisti e giornalisti specializzati in musica jazz valuterà i gruppi in concorso e assegnerà i premi.
  • ART.11.1 verranno messi a disposizione i seguenti premi in denaro (al lordo delle ritenute di legge):
    • – 1° classificato: Euro 2.000,00
    • – Premio “LUCA FLORES”: Euro 500,00
  • 11.2 La premiazione avverrà in occasione della serata conclusiva della manifestazione che si terrà a Barga ad AGOSTO 2024. La giuria, il cui giudizio è insindacabile, si riserva di segnalare con menzione altri gruppi o musicisti meritevoli o di non assegnare uno o più premi.
  • ART. 12 La manifestazione potrà essere ripresa in tutto o in parte per registrazioni radiotelevisive a scopo promozionale senza che i concorrenti abbiano nulla a pretendere, salvo quanto previsto dalla legge sulla tutela del diritto d’autore.
  • ART. 1 BargaJazz Contest 2024 is a competition open to Italian and foreign musicians under 35 years old.
  • ART. 2.1 Members of the BargaJazz Orchestra 2024 are excluded.
  • 2.2 Previous winners of the BargaJazz Competition cannot compete.
  • ART. 3.1 BargaJazz Contest 2024 is open to ensembles of between 3 and 7 elements.
  • ART. 3.2 As part of the contest the “Premio Luca Flores” will be assigned to a member of one of the groups deemed to be of particular worth.
  • ART. 4.1 In order to participate in the contest it is necessary to send via registered post to BargaJazz Contest 2024 – Comune di Barga – Via di Mezzo 45 – Barga (LU) – Italy, the following documentation:
    • Signed request for participation including name, surname, address and telephone number
    • Declaration of acceptance of Contest Regulations
    • Recording (CD or other digital media) containing at least 2 tracks lasting no less than 4 minutes each
    • Group CV
    • Name, details and registration number of group members registered with EX-ENPALS
    • Photocopy of Identity Document of all group members not registered with EX-ENPALS
    • Name, surname, address, e-mail and telephone number of group representative
  • ART. 5.1 A commission nominated by the artistic director will select the groups which will be selected for the final phase of the contest.
  • 5.2 Selection will take place in two phases: a first selection will take place on the basis of the recordings submitted
  • 5.3 Groups thus selected will perform live at the end of August in Barga during the course of the BargaJazz
  • ART. 6.1 Ensembles participating in the live performances will be offered board and keep for the day of their exhibition
  • 6.2 Selected groups will receive a remuneration of 60 euro net per person.
  • ART. 7 Selected groups must confirm their participation no less than 7 days from receiving notification of selection
  • ART. 8 DEAD LINE (date by which requests for participation together with relevant documentation must reach the Comune of Barga): 15th of July 2024.
  • ART. 9 Recordings and other material will not be returned.
  • ART. 10 An international jury composed of musicians and journalists specialising in Jazz music will evaluate the ensembles competing and assign the prizes.
  • ART. 11.1 The following cash prizes will be awarded (excluding duties and other deductions according to the law)
    • 1st Prize € 2.000,00
    • “Luca Flores” Prize € 500,00
  • 11.2 Prize Giving will take place during the final evening of the Festival in Barga. The jury, whose decision is final, reserves the right to mention other groups or musicians deemed worthy of note or not to assign one or more of the prizes.
  • ART The event may be recorded in its entirety or in part for televisual promotional motives without any remuneration to the participants, other than that provided by the laws governing copyright.
